Melbourne Rebels sign World Cup coach Rod Macqueen

    Waldron is massive. It provides the idea that this team is going to overtake the Storm which would be a massive feat for the Rebels if they could do it. I'm sure they are very happy to get one up over rugby league.

    Interesting appointment. It will be interesting to see if Macqueen’s still got it. He has been out of coaching for a long time, if not rugby completely. I think the assistant coach Damien Hill will have a fair bit to of influence though. He has a great record with Sydney University in the New South Wales club competition and has coached the Brumbies academy. I see Macqueen as more of an overseer and manager (dealing with the media n ****)
     
  5. I think MacQueen was one of those behind the ELVs so he has kept in touch with the game. Like you say, I think he'll be a figurehead (Director of Rugby type responsible for signing players) leavibg Damien Hill get on with the day to day coaching.
