I don't understand why they let someone like Perez Hilton be a judge on a classic event like the pageant. This statement has nothing to do about him being gay, but the fact that he's bottom feeding scum. He personally cost her the ***le with his overly liberal agenda. It's stupid. That dude get's away with saying whatever the flip he wants about anyone, and then is going to get defensive when remarks are made that question his lifestyle.
Also, beauty pageants aren't judged on the politics themselves...it's not about WHAT their opinion is, just that they have one and can articulate it.
