Mod for rugby 08 pc (on disc)

I have rugby 08 on pc, on disc. Is it possible to mod this to get the latest players and teams etc. Or would I have to download the game first? Any help appreciated as I am lower than a novice at this sort of thing!

pc or console?

if it is pc install the game and then add the content of the patches inside the installation carpata
