Banned Pakistan bowler Mohammad Amir has admitted playing for a village team but says he thought it was a friendly and did not contravene his suspension.

If a golfer went for a round while banned, would that mean they have to admit playing with themself?

It would be very silly if governing bodies tried to prevent banned players from playing amateur/ non-competitive versions of the sport.

If a footballer/ rugby player was banned, and he happened to be with a group of people and they just decided to kick/ pass a ball about, what then? If the ban applies then, surely banned players shouldn't be allowed to train fullstop?

Well there is a slight difference. If a professional rugby player in New Zealand was banned from rugby and then helped his local club team win a season game, then it would be in violation as he helped a team within in IRB's jurisdiction, win. If he played with a group of mates in a friendly game of rugby on a Sunday, where the outcome would not be recorded, that is different. I think that is the issue, whether or not the preseason outcomes goes against the ban.

He played against a team very close to where I live and it was all over the local news.

Agree with Zeno.It was all over the local new none other special.
