Interesting interview speaking about development of URC and moving forward, specifically aiming to improve consistent attendance (particularly eyeing up Wales). Also positive to hear that SA has not just contributed to a more competitive league, but playing a significant part in revenue generation.

Also a lot of the European Cup Revenue comes from South Africa too. I didn't realise Investec were South African

I assume this puts to bed all talk of binning the South African sides.

Great, boot wales out, replace them with a larger potential market, like Australia.

Then they can look at replacing Scotland, replacing them with Russia.

And finally, China or the USA can replace Ireland and the URC will be complete.

Imagine how much market potential there would be then, all the major economies, and added England and France to the European comp.

Add South Africa to the 6N, I mean think of the revenue, then Aus...

All this parochialism is killing the sport.
It is part of the entertainment industry and so needs to attract viewership.
Just look at the NFL and how it restricts matches, restricts TV coverage, creates as equal a competition as possible.
The Green Bay Packers revenue is half the Dallas Cowboys, but the salary cap is set so that they can afford to pay up to it, meaning their squad can be competitive.

Wales are a key stakeholder, no one is looking to get rid of them apart from themselves eyeing up England.

I mean, is it just rumours when 6N are discussing the possibility of SA joining from earlier this year?

It's been put off again, but if you don't beleive SA making themselves open to talks isn't intent, or discussions amongst controlling members isn't showing the realistic possibility, then I'm not sure what can convince you.

The clubs have joined NH rugby, now SA want in on the gravy train, as does 6N rugby want their market. It is...
