The Legionnaires Sevens Team

The Legionnaires are a newly formed sevens team with big aspirations. The Legionnaires will be entering their first competitive sevens tournament on 19th July 2008 when they play in the Acorn Newquay Surf 7s competition in Cornwall. We intend to put a very talented side together for this, our inaugural event, with players drawn from some of the best rugby clubs in Wales.
The Legionnaires Sevens team was established in 2008 by co-founders David Beynon and Paul Rumming. Their intention was to create a squad of talented sevens players who wanted to participate regularly in tournaments throughout the UK and abroad. The Legionnaires will be participating in their inaugural tournament on 19th of July 2008 in the Acorn Newquay Surf 7s competition in Cornwall.
The goal for the first seasons is to attract a healthy group of players and to become and established team. Once this has been achieved the intention is to attend more competitions and gain success at the highest level possible.
We are always looking for new players, sponsors, tournaments to enter and general rugby contacts and would welcome interest from all parties. To get in touch, please fill in the submission form in the ‘Contact Us’ section of the site, and we’ll get straight back to you.
In particular we are right now trying to secure a main sponsor and would welcome any feedback from anyone who might be able to help. I'm sure you all must be aware of how hard it is to get this sort of thing off the ground so any help will be gratefully appreciated!!!
