We'll see how this works. Hopefully the trial is successful and attacking rugby will come to the fore more. The counter argument is that defences will give away more penalties so as to prevent tries being scored since they're far more valuable. If referees are more inclined to use yellow cards for defensive "red zone" penalties, I think this might work.

I thought about that one too. Will be interesting to see how the players attitude change. What happens in the 22 will make or brake this points system.
