Good news for Ulster if it comes to pass. Ravenhill will be more than adequate for their Magners League games (excluding the Munster and Leinster fixtures) but with it being based in a residential area, there isn't scope for major expansion. A 25,000 capacity stadium beside one of the city's airports coupled with new training facilities would be great for Ulster.

they're already redeveloping Ravenhill, so what's the point in the Ulster branch or the IRFU putting money into this project and should Ulster eventually progress it's not like a trip to Dublin for a HEC quarter final or semi final is a major hassle.

Windsor Park on the other hand is in desperate need of redevelopment so this could be ideal for the IFA.

You can never have too many facilities.

The redevelopment of Ravenhill (or at least phase one of the redevelopment) doesn't increase the capacity of the stadium. What it is doing is putting in place corporate facilities so that the stadium can make money even when Ulster aren't playing. Having use of another stadium with a bigger capacity in conjunction with better corporate facilities in their own ground is a win-win combination for Ulster in my opinion.

As an aside, this stadium plan is certainly better than the ill advised (and now shelved) plan to build a new facility well outside Belfast at the site of the Maze prison.

Definately win-win for Ulster. HEC home games and all games against Irish opposition at the new ground, everything else in Ravenhill. Sounds promising, and good to hear the GAA are not involved voluntarily and are not being left out in the Cold (Not that they need as much funding anyway)

Nice be a welcome addition to the Mangers and HEC!
