Newcastle make one change to the side that beat Sale 32-25 last week, with Blaydon winger Andrew Fenby handed his full debut for the Kingston Park clash.
He replaces Danny Williams, who rolled over on his ankle in last week's match.
Harlequins are without backs Danny Care and Ugo Monye, who are both on England duty against France at Twickenham.
Scrum-half Andy Gomarsall and winger Tom Williams are recalled, while De Wet Barry and Junior Poluleuligaga will take their places on the bench.
