Could you tell me the name of the Scotland-born SH in Super Rugby Aotearoa? Is he going to play for Scotland?

Could you tell me the name of the Scotland-born SH in Super Rugby Aotearoa? Is he going to play for Scotland?
Finlay Christie, a halfback, 24 years old. He moved to New Zealand when he was 7.

He is pretty good but currently ranked 7th at the very highest here. He will have to make a decision on his chances of making the all blacks, and wait for an attractive enough overseas offer before he makes himself ineligible for the all blacks as he won't want to rely on being picked as one of the two (I think) ineligible for the all blacks allowed in any given super rugby squad.

he is a promising player so I think he will give himself a couple of years before deciding.

this is who I'd pick as of now, to play next week (following week 4 of super rugby aotearoa)
i'm assuming ross, armstrong, and dickson will be injured. and i've assumed retallick will play this game and would have done some training prior (so I'll bring him off the bench).
the north without tuinukuafe, moli, taavao, on top of ross and armstrong, really struggling for props.

south:
moody. hodgman
taylor. coltman
laulala. lomax

close were fainga'anuku, grace, tokolahi for south. for north, close were t. mafileo, reuben O'Neill, Mikaele-Tu'u and boshier.

New Zealand is at the top of my bucket list, for sure!
Yes, same here! So sad I didn't visit it when I've been to Australia :( now it looks so horribly far from me... :(

That's interesting to watch a match between two islands' teams :) seems like New Zealand is generally very "strong" in rugby so a match between Islands should be hot :)

I think they will choose the same as me except they'll swap starting and bench roles for the tightheads, Replace Romano with Dunshea, Christie with prinsep, and faingaanuku with nareki.

MMT isn't in the north squad
I was just picking who I'd pick, not who I'd pick given who is in the squad. I picked 4 players in the north 23 that didn't make the squad, and 2 players in the south 23 that didn't make the squad

I'd also love to visit NZ. Definitely one of my top travelling destinations for the future.

Game confirmed for the 5th of September in WELLINGTON and behind closed doors (no crowd)...pretty anticlimactic

everyone seen the Official NvS trophy has been found, last awarded after the 1931 game, officially lost although lots of people now coming out saying they'd seen it here and they'd seen it there

I do love this stuff, ads some legend to trophies, if theyre going to use it again i wonder if they'll add all the other winners since 1931

The North team

Forwards: 1. Karl Tu'inukuafe 2. Asafo Aumua, 3. Ofa Tuungafasi, 4. Patrick Tuipulotu (captain), 5. Tupou Vaa'i, 6. Akira Ioane, 7. Ardie Savea, 8. Hoskins Sotutu.

Backs: 9. TJ Perenara, 10. Beauden Barrett, 11. Caleb Clarke, 12. Anton Lienert-Brown, 13. Rieko Ioane, 14. Sevu Reece, 15. Damian McKenzie.

Replacements: 16. Ash Dixon, 17. Ayden Johnstone, 18. Angus Ta'avao, 19. Scott Scrafton, 20. Dalton Papalii, 21. Aaron Smith, 22. Peter Umaga-Jensen, 23. Mitchell Hunt.

The South team

Forwards: 1. Joe Moody, 2. Codie Taylor, 3. Nepo Laulala, 4. Samuel Whitelock (captain), 5. Mitchell Dunshea, 6. Shannon Frizell, 7. Tom Christie, 8. Tom Sanders.

Backs: 9. Brad Weber, 10. Richie Mo'unga, 11. George Bridge, 12. Jack Goodhue, 13. Braydon Ennor, 14. Will Jordan, 15. Jordie Barrett

Replacements: 16. Liam Coltman, 17. George Bower, 18. Tyrel Lomax, 19. Manaaki Selby-Rickit, 20. Dillon Hunt, 21. Finlay Christie, 22. Josh Ioane, 23. Leicester Faingaanuku.

first Two reactions I had
1. Why is Aaron Smith not starting?
2. Dillon hunt is better than Tom christie

The south team looks stronger but, more importantly, they will be more cohesive as they are largely the crusaders and, where they're not they have players who have played for the crusaders or Canterbury in laulala and Jordie barret. It's just frizell and Weber in the starting lineup who haven't played for the crusaders or Canterbury.

I wonder what the finishing lineups will look like. Perhaps

Johnstone
Dixon
Taavao
Tuipolotu
scrafton
A ione
Papalii
Savea
Smith
Hunt
R ione
Lienert brown
Umaga jensen
Reece
B barret

bower
Coltman
Lomax
Whitelock
Selby rickitt
Frizell
D hunt
Sanders
F christie
J ione
Bridge
Goodhue
L fainganuku
Jordan
J barret

that won't look so much like the crusaders, so might be the time for the north to mount a come back

south 34 - 29

Smith is not starting because TJ has had longer break, with missing final game of super because of birth of child!

Thank you for posting the team line ups. I was wondering if my favorite Highlander Josh Ioane would be playing. And it's always good to see the Barrett boys tangle. Go South!

And I just tweaked that there is no Alex hodgman. Is bower better than I realised? Because hodgman was one of the standout players in super rugby.

Half Time - South 17 North 14

That Steinlager logo is making me thirsty. :p
