<div class='quotemain'> To be serious...

Northampton vs Northern United Premires. (Jerry Collins' local rugby club) [/b]
I'd agree with that. A full strength Air NZ cup team would probably be too strong.

Ummm no bro but this team is just a level lower than the Air NZ Cup teams. Northern United is a local club competing with other clubs who make up the Wellington Lions team in the Air NZ Cup competition. The only times Jerry Collins or other pro rugby players play for their local club is when they've just recovered from an injury or their pro team has a bye. etc. But yeah Northern United do have a pretty strong team though. Some of them are currently playing for the Hurricanes.

1. John Schwalger
2. Anthony Perenise
3. Tamati Ellison
4. Jerry Collins
5. Chris Smylie
6. Serge Lilo

That's about it from our small local town. So'oialo's from here too but dunno what club he plays for. :)

<div class='quotemain'> lol Wellycane, i think you misunderstood Rugby's_a_Religion

 Oh **** hahaha damn I made a fool of myself  sorry guys...fck! How embarrassing.

note: this is the first time i've swore on here.

Super 14 rugby is full of missed tackles and although it's played at a faster paced than NH rugby there are far more mistakes. Apart from maybe the Crusaders, Leicester would beat any of the other S14 teams. Munster are their best (this time last year) would also beat any of the S14 teams

One of the more amusing things I have heard lately.

You ever considered standup?

I realised this little gem while posting about Lions in the SH exodus up north thread....and I know we're talking S14 v Heineken cup but.... one of our most valuable indicators for a north v south argument has to be without a doubt the Lions series, which incidently in the last 20 years has only been won 2 out of a possible 8 times by the NH representatives. SH kicks NH ass.

The end

What if the Lions had a year's worth of test matches to gel before touring though?

A different story methinks.

The Lions had 6 or 7 warm up games, including a game against a Full Strength Maori team.

The All Blacks had a test against Fiji where they rested a bunch of players, apart from that they hadn't played with each other in 7 months.

Lions had warm up matches...never played together before that.
NZ had 1 warm up match...i think they may have played together before, somehow.

I'm not specifically referring to the 2005 Lions, I mean every Lions series ever.

And playing Bay of Plenty and Southland is not the same as a year of test matches.
