Northampton Saints have signed Wales international scrum-half Ryan Powell from Worcester.

The 29-year-old has made 78 appearances for the Warriors, scoring 25 points, and has three caps for Wales having also captained the country's 'A' team.

"Everything about the Saints is great, in my opinion," said Powell.

Don't you love way the say Welsh International as if he a real talent. It really bugs me hearing that as an International is a player playing consistently with national team/squad in my view.

Like I don't consider Ian Dowling an International or Johne Murphy because they picked up caps when majority of squad are missing.

I know, when Bristol signed Jason Strange the OS said something like "signed Welsh International fly half" when in fact he was named as a sub ONCE but never made it on the pitch.

Powell played all his caps in Friendlies ... Canada once and South Africa twice all as replacements. When he was selected back in 2002 he was thought to be the next thing for Wales. He never developed as a scrum half, had the pace but lacked composure. But in all fairness you cant take away the caps he has and he is therefore entitled to being called a Welsh International.

Yet ...

Powell is crap and I think Mallinder has signed a shocker.
