For one game only! (Ha, had you!)
Leicester Tigers head coach Pat Howard has signed to Northampton Saints for one game only to help raise extra money for the Matt Hampson Trust Fund. Howard has agreed to be a guest player on the Saints Old Boys team that will play an England Legends side at Franklin’s Gardens on Friday, March 24 â€" KO 7pm.
Howard will join his former adversaries to celebrate Saints’ 125th anniversary and to raise funds for former Tigers prop Hampson, who broke his neck during an England U21s training session at Franklin’s Gardens.
Team manager Lennie Newman said: “It has taken us a little while to pin Pat down as he is a very busy man, but he has gladly given up his time to help raise extra cash for a former young player of his. He may be a Tigers man, but we all look forward to running out with him as an honorary Saints Old Boy.â€
Once the Old Boys curtain-raiser has concluded, Howard will be able to sit back and watch his club academy in action as the youngsters from Saints and Tigers go head to head at 8pm.
Tickets are £10 for adults and £6 for juniors and concessions or £8 and £5 respectively for season tickets holders who buy their tickets before close of play tomorrow. Group ticket deals are also available. More details can be obtained from the Saints ticket office on 01604 581000.
