PREM 25/26 - Round 2

Bath win - sales attack looked terrible last week
Exeter - finally get a good win
Quins - who doesn’t hate tigers
Bristol - just fancy them in this one
Saints - too much for Gloucester

Feel better after that second half come back last week but we really have alot to work on, RedBulls will be a good test for us to see where we are.

I do like the Chiefs team, is Hodge banned ive not even looked? IFW I'm hoping was just cramps. But I'd keep the same team as last week where possible

Dimes has gone, you'll be fine.

RdP and RMW both in the video the club put out of training today so looks like they just had knocks rather than injuries, which is a big boost

No sign of DDP so imagine it's going to be the same starting XV - Quirke and Louw both pictured too so imagine Quirke onto the bench and then maybe Louw too if they go with a 5:3 instead of 6:2

I'm hoping we can get a point, but Bath's second half last round was scary - we'll need to be on our A game just to not get steamrolled

I know but sometimes that pushes a team to work harder. And with Townsend rumoured to be coming in they will want to impress the new coach.

We were playing Saracens, so hard to judge us really. Saracens looked ominously good for their title challengers. They just cruised against us and then put the pressure on a little bit in the 2nd half

But
Our attack is ineptly predictable
Our Scrum got taken to pieces
Our lineout also got taken to the cleaners
Our stamina died from 50 on as Saracens just turned the screw a bit.

You'll be fine.

Shame to see some of those knocks did turn out to be injuries - a big ask becomes even bigger!

How come Chessum can play for Tigers but LCD can't play for another week (or is it two? I can't remember if it's Rd 3 or AFTER Rd 3)

Bath:
1 Beno Obano
2 Tom Dunn
3 Vilikesa Sela
4 Quinn Roux
5 Charlie Ewels

10 Max Ojomoh

Only change I'm seeing from last week is Bayliss out, Hill taking his place from the bench, and Barbeary returning to the bench.
Oh, and Frost for Tuipulotu and Butt for CHarris on the bench

Players can appeal if they have evidence of on a welfare basis Lower game time during the season etc. Chessum was at 1247 minutes last season

Round 2 Fixtures Scorigami History

Bath v Sale: Bath have tallied 9 Scorigami wins over Sale. The Sharks have just 5, and there was a 7-7 Scorigami draw between the teams in 2018

Exeter v Newcastle:
The Chiefs have a pair of Scorigami wins over Newcastle, 46-17 in February 2015 and 74-3 in 2021. Newcastle have yet to beat Exeter in a Scorigami

Leicester v Harlequins: The Tigers have 10 Scorigami victories over Quins, doing the Scorigami double (home and away) in 1998, 1999 and 2000. Surprisingly, the Harlequins have 0 Scorigami wins over the East Midlands side.

Saracens v Bristol: Sarries have 9 Scorigami wins over Bristol, including a 26-9 victory in 2021, following their return to the Premiership after a Salary Cap punishment. The Bears have beaten Saracens 7 times in the Premiership, none of them a Scorigami

Gloucester v Northampton: Glos have 7 Scorigami Wins over the Saints, Northampton have 6 Scorigami wins over the Cherry and Whites. The most (in)famous being the most recent, the record winning margin 90-0 in May 2024.

Surprising trend of teams yet to get their first Scorigami wins over their opponents this week.

Weather forecast has changed, and I'm not optimistic about tonight.
Ford vs Ojomoh in a bad-weather FH battle is only going to end one way - especially with Coka on one wing who's a bit dodgy around the high ball in perfect conditions, especially if the FH can get a couple of extra metres distance on those kicks than he's used to, and has to turn as well.
Thankfully it's only George Ford - probably the single best kicker-from-hand in rugby.

If we come through, it'll definitely be an example of the "forwards win matches" mantra

Exeter Chiefs:
15 Dan John
14 Immanuel Feyi-Waboso
13 Henry Slade
12 Ben Hammersley
11 Paul Brown-Bampoe
10 Harvey Skinner
9 Stephen Varney

1 Will Goodrick-Clarke
2 Joseph Dweba
3 Josh Iosefa-Scott
4 Dafydd Jenkins (c)
5 Andrea Zambonin
6 Ethan Roots
7 Greg Fisilau
8 Ross Vintcent

Replacements:
16 Jack Yeandle
17 Kwenzo Blose
18 Bachuki Tchumbadze
19 Rusi Tuima
20 Lewis Pearson
21 Kane James
22 Charlie Chapman
23 Nick Lilley

Dan John for banned hodge and good to see Daf Jenkins back. Should be a good game.
