PREM 25/26 - Round 2

Atrocious half. It's not just the lack of any sort of fluency to our attacking game but it's the fact we're being dominated in every physical aspect of the game.

About the only positive so is no i-words yet.

@saracens 50-17 @BristolBears

NO Scorigami

This was the 4th instance of this score.

First Game: 10/3/01 Gloucester 50-17 Rotherham
Last Game: 18/2/17 Leicester 50-17 Bristol

A quality game. Not much kicking from either side and there was a good flow from both sides. Bears just lacked that final flourish in the red zone. Lots of very good tries and solid defensive performances. Good to see a lot of the next generation cominf through.

A quality game.
Not sure about that, Bris definitely not up to it first half. Will need a word with some individuals.

I have one gripe with the score announcement video though, as Bris have never, ever won at the Stone X is it really a big surprise? :p

Positives to be taken from that second half, some really impressive stuff from the younguns and should have taken the LBP if not for a bit of bad luck (again). Kept in the game and didn't give up. Some players coming back, including Gengey, Pedro and Santi who will bring a bit of heavier firepower. Not hitting the panic button yet.

Blew us away early on, congratulations Sarries. Looking good. See you again later on. Oh, and as daddy Bracken is something of a Bristol legend as well, is there any chance we could split the offspring between us? Cheers.

There's another Bracken to come as well...

Next week against Quins is going to be tough though.

Right, time to find some positives out of a 50-17 defeat..

  • Potential injury ignored, LRZ is looking sharp, showed that speed on one of the Marmion tries (I forget which one!)
  • Our trio of J's in the pack (Batley, Dun and Owen) looked good, got stuck in and carried well when given the chance.
  • We almost got a BP out of a game we probably didn't deserve (Is that a positive?)
  • We have Genge coming back next weeK

Marmion's got a pass on him, hasn't he?

Quick delivery, good height, out in front of the man.

If he keeps playing like that (and doesn't fall prey to the KIM) I can see him overtaking Randall for the 9 shirt.

Meanwhile, Sarries are looking very good indeed, with players to come back.

I wouldn't have thought so. Randall's overall speed in everything he does means he's vital to our style of play. KM is a more than capable deputy and will perform well but I fully expect, once Randall is fit again, to immediately return to starting.
