Rohan back and Quirke's first start :D :D :D

Akker and Oosthuizen start :( :( :(

Should definitely be a rule on home grown players.

Natal Sale Sharks have 7 Saffers in their starting XV although the picture's better when you look at the 23. And its not like those 7 even include their best 2.

Wasps have got...3? home grown players in their 15, why aren't you crying about that?
and not a peep last week when we had 15(?) academy graduates in the side?

Just as a comparator - Bath have 1 non-EQP in their 23

I approve of that.

The likes of Brits and Ayerza added massively to the domestic scene over an extended period. High quality players who bought into their clubs and younger players will have benefitted from having them around. There are many other examples, but there are also so many moderate imports who add little and just pass through blocking English talent. Clubs do lose a bit of identity when that happens too much. I'd just like some sort of cap on numbers - say max 6 non EQP in a match day 23.

I'm not actually having a particular dig at Sale. Maybe its just that all the names were Saffer that made them jump off the page at me. For me this is a much wider issue.

I don't often comment on the squads and definitely don't study them all in detail every week. But on occasion where I've seen a predominantly EQP squad I've highlighted that as good and would have done likewise if I'd seen the Sale squad last week.

Fair point on home grown. I was really meaning EQP, not necessarily developed by that club, although the more genuinely home grown the better.

Its a results business and teams will do whatever they think best. That's fair enough, I'd just like them working within some sort of parameters. As someone non affiliated to a particular club, I'm not bothered by results, I'm more interested in seeing English players who people can identify with and watch them as they progress and strive for higher honours.

Honestly with 12 teams in the league I don't see the need to have home grown player requirement now.
EQP playing this weekend
1. VPR, Kenny, Marler, Woolmore, Harris, Rodd, Waller, Waller, Genge, Brockleback
2. Walker, Yeandle, Taylor, Youngs, Blamire, Walker, Cornish,
3. Balmain, Street, Brookes, Schnert, Cole, Thomas,
4. Slater, Lonsdale, Attwood, Launchbury,Beaumont, Kitchener, Ribbans, Wells, Barry, Munga, Mcnally,
5. Price, Lamb, Symons, Clegg, Green, Robinson, Ewels,
6. Armand, Chisholm, Shields, Hill, Isiewke, Welch, Donnell, Ellis,
7. Ludlow, Capstick, Evans, Neild, Kvesic, Wood, Reffell, Wilson, Underhill,
8. Tuima, Earl, Dombrandt, Barbeary, Batley, Harrison, Chick, Mercer, Rogerson,
9. Heinz, Uren, Care, Robson, Quirke, Mitchell, Wigglesworth, Spencer,
10. Barton, Skinner, Smith, Searle, Ford, Hodgson, Bailey,
11. May, Purdy, Murley, Bassett, Yarde, Humphryes, Slightholme, Stevnson, OHC, Muir,
12. Atkinson, Baldwin, POC, Le Bourgeois, Francis, Burrell, Kelly, TBC, Clark,
13. Twelvetrees, John, Marchant, James, Lawrence, Lucock, Joesph,
14. Woodburn, Kibirige, Ashton, Collins, Potter, Wacokecoke, Loader, Cokanisgna
15. Hodge, Brown, James, Pennell, Furbank, Steward, Tait, Parton, Watson,

That's me not including subs and being harsh on some players EQP and making mistakes.
IMO currently there is not enough EQP talent too make the league as competitive as it is with this many teams.

Cant see Chiefs getting the win but looking forward to seeing a few of these young guys

Just hope it doesnt get embarrasing and some good shows from a few of them at least. Not expecitng too much.

You always remember your first try i bet but damn thats one he wont forget. When he runs he's deceptively quick.
