Pen-penultimate matches in the "regular" season and some classic match ups this weekend.

Aurillac (7th) take on USAP (2nd) who can do BO a big favour by improving their poor away form by beating SA who are 5 points behind them.

Carcassonne (11th) take on Massey (16th) and surely the inevitable win for the home side will mean relegation for Massey who are already 6 points adrift at the bottom.

The mighty Biarritz (5th place), who will have a new kit supplier called Macron from next season, travel to Colomiers (8th) who have little tp play for and may see the basques celebrating in the Moulin Rouge after their victory!!

Dax (15th) need to play out of their skin against Albi (6th) who need a win to stay in touch with the play off places being already 4 points adrift.

Montauban (10th) host MdM (4th) and a home win would see the away team fall back to at least 5th in the table.

Real bottom of the table scrap at Narbonne (14th with 42 points) where Bourgoin (13th 45 points) are the visitors and a win for either would greatlease their relegation worries should Dax (42 points) lose at home to Albi!

In probably the only meanigless match of the weekend Tarbes (12th) are at home to Beziers (9th).

Finally, and on Sunday, Agen (3rd) take on the promoted Pau and one can only hope that the celebrations have not gone to the heads of the team and there is enough to overcome their average away record to beat Agen....

I have finally managed to drag my head out of my hands after a week of renting my hair shirt at my support for the most ridiculously badly managed club that is Biarritz Olympique Pays Basque who have, for the last number of seasons, managed to shoot themselves in the foot through indiscipline.

This has been a pervading and disturbing thread that has weaved its way thrugh the club despite successive managers and coaches and the buck invariably must stop with Budda who has failed to address the problem and, indeed, added to it with a myriad of recruited players who seem to be able to handle themselves elsewhere but turn into penalty machines at Aguillera!!

My reason for the usual rant, is that BO managed to lose to a team that has nowhere to go and who scored exactly the same number of tries but still they lost through the penalties that they gave away (which has resulted in yet another player facing the commission having been cited)!

If it is not huge number of unnecesssary scrum and offside penalties, there have been far too many incidents this season of fighting at matches involving the club. It cost them the chance to stay in the Top 14 and it looks increasngly likely to cost them promotion this season which will result, not only in the loss of bonuses to compensate for reduced salaries, but also the best players who have stuck with the club (or been recruited) who were prepared to give it one more season.

Anyway......USAP continued their poor away record, and kept BO's chances of promotion hanging by a thread, by losing to Aurillac. Narbonne and Bourgoin trod water at just outside the relegation zone by drawing and both the bottom clubs, Dax (who at least got a defensive bonus) and Massy, lost. Agen and Les Montois both won and moved above USAP and Albi, having beaten Dax, also won leaving BO in 6th place on the same points as Albi in fifth and Aurillac in seventh.
