That should guarantee a Denver vs Ohio final. I've watched a lot of highlights and some of the live games and I think the organisers have got it spot on in terms of what is actually played on the field. It sounds like they banned specialist defensive coaches which may explain the high scores.

But there are very worrying signs off the field. First they lost the streaming deal with AOL and then they had to downgrade Denver's stadium so they are now only paying at a Uni campus with capacity of less than 2000. It looks terrible on TV like that and I guess Denver will be hosting the final? I see no way that they are breaking even with the crowds in recent weeks and charging $20 seems too much given the lack of quality of some of the stadia.

The guy running it says he'll stump up the cash to run the league for two more seasons and is open about gambling on a bounce from US involvement in the Rio 7s. But if the 7s side bombs I can see this entire project going south very quickly.

They didn't lose the AOL deal but figured out they could stream it themselves for less cost and with better accessibility, and that much has worked out.

As far as I know is not going to be a final match this year. They may implemented in future seasons.

As @riffraff said, they didn't lost AOL, they realized that AOL wasn't adding any real value.

Regarding the Denver's stadium, it's true that Infinity Park has better infraestructure. However, it's also true that it was too expensive for this moment. Also, the 2000 capacity of the CIBER Field is in line with the attendance expectations/reality of this first season (where only few matches went over this number).

IMHO, they are achieving what they initially expected regarding attendance and streaming. But sure, the whole thing can go up or down really quickly.

Too bad Ohio couldn't capture it with the win, but oh well there's always next year. I didn't manage to watch as much as I'd have liked, but hopefully there will be a Canadian team to cheer for soon.
