Good news for the Brumbies, it would be nice to see Rathbone playing a full season of Super14 again and try and work his way back into the Wallaby team, really rate him highly as a player
Super14.comBrumbies winger Clyde Rathbone has been cleared of any structural damage following his side's 33-31 win over the Highlanders on Friday night.
Rathbone suffered a knock to his left cheek midway through the first half and temporarily left the field under the 'blood' rule.
The 27-year-old received 10 stitches to his left cheek after the match, however, x-rays and CT scans taken today have cleared him of any serious damage.
CA Brumbies Team Doctor Warren McDonald says Rathbone's injury was contained to bruising and a facial cut.
"It's procedure to have these scans taken, however, having examined Clyde after the match we were confident that he had not received any serious structural damage," he said.
"He has sustained a laceration to his cheek and some swelling around his left eye but we expect this to settle over the next few days which should allow him to return to training later in the week."
Rathbone is expected to be available for the CA Brumbies' first home match of the 2009 Super 14 season against the Crusaders at Canberra Stadium on Saturday, 21 February.[/b]
