Would be crazy and pretty embarrassing for WR. (But could give a team like Hong Kong an easier in potentially who in terms of rankings is only behind Canada in the potential rep comp).

It'd be Portugal vs Germany and the source is apparently Georgian. It'd be funny if they insist on replaying Belgium vs Spain and it's a dead rubber, but really, this is tragic rather than a laughing matter.

I think there is potential truth in this because in recent weeks World Rugby reportedly mediated in the crisis between the German union and the gazillionaire Wild who are in a dispute over players (hence Germany being godawful this year). Maybe that is an effort to get a competitive Germany in the repechage tournament. Or maybe it predates this crisis slightly and was an effort to have Germany avoid relegation (which would be a long term financial disaster for rugby in Europe).
