Worcester coach Mike Ruddock has moved to calm the rumours that have sprung up over the past few days about further big names arriving at Sixways over the next few months.
Scotland fly-half Mike Blair and Welsh international James Hook have both recently been linked with the Warriors.
"It would be great to have a current international joining us," said Ruddock to the BBC.
"On the other had it could be a disadvantage as well, so we have to weigh those things up.
"You have to weigh up: they can be away for autumn internationals, Six Nations, summer tours and the World Cup. So that means a lot of time away from the club.
"We are always looking at what is out there, but we have to weigh up the quality of the player and how they fit in.
"Mike Blair is a fantastic player, but we have think about how many games he would play for us."
Ruddock did not pass comment on the rumours surrounding James Hook, who is unsettled at the Ospreys with Dan Biggar taking the fly-half spot and who was the subject of a recent approach by Cardiff Blues.
Meanwhile, Worcester are casting the net around for a new venue for Saturday's Amlin Challenge Cup tie with Madrid.
Europe's big freeze claimed Worcester's Guinness Premiership match against London Irish at the weekend despite a dome-shaped cover over the pitch and with little prospect of a thaw coming, this weekend's match could also be a victim.
It doesn't matter too much in the context of the competition, which the Warriors cannot now qualify for the quarter-finals of, but Mike Ruddock is anxious to get his players playing.
"Because it's a European competition there is no chance of arranging it in February or March," said General Manager Charlie Little to the BBC.
"We are in discussion with surrounding clubs who have the dome system to see if they can stage the game.
"We have to play the game this weekend or we'll forfeit the points which we don't want to do.
"Although we are out of the competition, we want to play the game, and get some of our players some game time.
"It is in our interest for the Warriors to play the game and we will be doing our best to do so."
