Rugby breakaway league coming. (R360)

He might have been better advised to have put a full stop after region given a number of top 14 clubs are the playthings of rich men or businesses.

"Sources have told the Guardian that during informal discussions in recent weeks, R360 has been unable to answer all of World Rugby's questions, leading to the application's withdrawal.

World Rugby is understood to have requested detailed responses from R360 on a number of topics, including proposed venues and staging agreements, the level of compensation to be paid to clubs, player release for training camps ahead of international tournaments, and the new competition's plans for player development"

Wow - who could possibly have predicted - apart from... everyone here, obviously

Apart from Mike Tindall aka @Rugbyfan564

Will Mike Tindall and Michael Johnson eventually have a podcast together? Might be called how not to run a sporting competition.

The only option now is to run a "wildcat" competition, can't see the players going for that unless there are bank guarantees to back up the contracts as they will likely be giving up international rugby.

Interesting comments from an owner of a Top 14 Club

Roubert added the economics of R360 just don't add up for him.

"Finally, economically, I find it hard to understand how you can pay 12 times 30 players more than 500,000 euros ($586,000)," he said. "As well as rent stadiums, which clubs don't usually play at, and the logistical costs."

BBC confirm 10 English players have signed up for R360. 75% of those signed have played test rugby in the last two years. Still heavy skepticism that it will happen.

George North backs the breakaway.

10 players 'who have' played for England.

'England stars Fin Smith, Tom Willis and George Martin are among those whose club deals expire at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

So too are Wales aces Jac Morgan and Dewi Lake.

R360 is also understood to be looking at more senior England stars including George Ford, Jamie George and Henry Slade.'
