A keystone client has been Wellington’s Sidhe, which has used Sellar’s gear to tweak the console version of its hit Sony PlayStation game Stacey Jones’ Rugby League. Trials have just begun on the new version of League for Sony’s portable PSP.
While PSP graphics look great, the smaller screen means simpler games and a lower cost to create a game. Wellington’s Sidhe has been quick to exploit this trend, and is in the advanced stages of creating a PSP version of its Rugby League PlayStation game.Sidhe is also developing an original PSP ***le, a stunt-driving, puzzle-solving effort called Gripshift. Others, like Dunedin’s Starlight Studios, are following suit. Wynands says Gripshift’s development costs will amount to just a fraction of those for a console or PC game.
