Just a general email to any of the forum members from dublin who might be interested in trying their hand at rugby league this summer. The Rugby League Ireland competition runs from may to september so won't conflict with your union schedule.
The Dublin Blues are Ireland's oldest Rugby League club and are always looking for more members. Rugby League is a fast, fun, hard game, any union player can definitely benefit from trying it out, you will get a lot more carries with the ball and it is a great way to improve your defense.
For players in uni there is also the possibility of representing Ireland at the forthcoming Student Rugby League World Cup in Australia. I started playing when I was 19, after plenty of union experience, and made the Leinster Students as well as the Irish Students, unfortunately not in a World Cup year. Its a good way to stay fit and improve your contact skills. If anyone is interested make a post on this thread and I can give more details if there's any interest.
