I really think people are overhyping the Japanese. Sure they have been great and fairy tale and all that jazz, but don't forget who the Springboks are. Would you have said the same thing had they been playing the All Blacks? Japan have lost 0 and SA lost 1? You reckon they would have beaten NZ in the pool stage as well? Ireland lost by 50 points to England before this WC and Scotland are not as good as the Springboks by a long shot in this tournament. Japan have been brilliant, and have rightly been rated now as tier 1, but to all of a sudden think they are world beaters is Imo jumping the gun big time. They beat us in 2015. A disorganized Mish mash who played golf the day before, didn't take the game seriously, had no warm up games, and were very very bad on the day. They are now facing a team who are prepared, and who beat the All Blacks in New Zealand, then drew with them earlier this year and won the Rugby Championship. Nevermind that they put 41 points on Japan merely 2 weeks before this tournament. This is probably the biggest case ever of people calling a game with their hearts instead of their heads. I'm by no means saying it's not possible... it's very possible, but if both teams show up and give their all, I guarantee you it will be the same winner every time. I would say the same with all of NZ, Wales, England if they were the ones playing Japan. The rhetoric was very similar in 2007 when an in form on fire Argentina side made it to the semi final. Then the party stopped rather abruptly. I guess only time will tell on this one... On the bright side if Japan do win at least we will still have a team to support going forward.
