This is either very smart or very stupid…I haven't decided which yet.

Anglesea has been doing well with the Jets this season (smashing everyone) so hopefully he can bring some of this across to the main team
First match is at a soldout Welford Rd……don't think anyone would be looking forward to taking on that!

It's not a major shock. When Brewer was with Leinster he was acknowledged as having brought a hard edge to the pack but his people skills were awful - he almost got into a punching match with backs coach David Knox in the changing room after a game and didn't speak to him for an entire season. Judging by the expected mass exodus of players from Sale, it appears his communication skills didn't improve at all. Good coach, bad manager.

I suspect he wouldn't have been the first Kiwi to want to punch David Knox :)

... surprised about the people skills, at one time he was touted as an All Black captain (would have thought you needed people skills for that), he just got injured at the wrong time, and Fitzy got the job ... the rest is history

Indeed Knox was a major league asshole but he was also a terrific coach. Some of the rugby Leinster played in his first season coaching the backs was absolutely breathtaking. Some of the tries in victories over Bath and Toulouse made me do a sex wee.

Yep, I don't know too much about Knox's coaching, but he certainly seemed to run the wallaby back line well when he was wearing the 10 jersey ... i'll give him that

... I wonder what the future holds for Mike Brewer ... maybe the Highlanders can use him or the Otago NPC team, he's a bit of a legend in those parts of NZ
