About that last line (" The southern unions have been especially fruitful for northern unions in search of black and coloured players."): I've lost track of the AA situation in SA. Is there a definite number of 'Previously Disadvanteged' players that must be on each squad, and at each level of competition? If so, does that number include a specific breakdown in terms of 'blacks' and 'coloured'? Or do the unions merely have to demonstrate that they are moving in the right direction?
