Schalk Burger to play for Suntory Sungoliath

It is reported to be a two-year deal, starting in August.

Burger will, however, not be lost for South African rugby as his contract allows him to turn out for the Stormers during the Super Rugby season and for the Springboks later in the year

See i have no problem with a player like Burger, who has had horrible injury problems and knowing that he might have had to stop playing rugby, wanting to go and make some money playing in Japan. If he also has release to South Africa as well then it's win win all round.

Well if japan can do for him what it did to George Smith, it would be a very good move. Certainly be getting good money.

He can play some soft rugby there for a lot of money. It's a great move for him IMO as he has problems with the injuries.
