Scotland v New Zealand 08/11/2025

Scotland have got the team to beat the All Blacks, but do they have the belief?. That 0 next to their name in the win column is a big mental hurdle to get over. Having said that, if Scotland are ever going to beat NZ, surely it’s now?.

I’m always in 2 minds in this game. I find myself, deep down, rooting for my Celtic brothers but the petty side of me never wants them to do what everyone else can do but Wales can’t.

This year does feel a bit different, though. We’re so far off it that I think I can relax and just hope for a Scotland win. Going to be a much better watch than the Ireland NZ game

NZ were very ordinary against a poor Irish team. They’re there for the taking if only the Scots can believe….

Not so sure for Scotland. Ireland's pack were on top for 60 mins on Saturday. Scotland will attack NZ better with their opportunities but I can't see them starving NZ of attacking opportunities for prolonged periods like last week.

Nice to see Hutchinson get a shot.

Yeah I'm happy with that centre pairing. He could have played Jordan at 12 and pushed Sione out to 13 who can do a job there but he's much more effective at 12 and also takes the pressure off Finn. Also good to see Gregor Brown getting the nod who has really kicked on this season.

Disappointed Max Williamson didn't make the 23 - I'd have had him partnering Cummings but Townsend has predictably has gone with Gilchrist. Prop depth looks very poor and this along with Zander's absence will likely be our undoing.

I also like the Steyn pick. Duhan can be a real weapon ball in hand but his weaknesses are well known and make him a target. Steyn is a better all rounder, more solid under the high ball and also brings leadership being Glasgow captain.

Yeah it's hard to imagine the all blacks being quite as off-the-boil as they were last week, I thnik they'll dominate the last quarter and win a high-scoring game by 15

Scotland will be gutsy. But lose.

The only question is whether the inevitable hard luck story costs them the game or just changes the margin of defeat.
