The World Cup final, Soccer City, Sunday.

I'll be wrapping myself into my couch to watch the build up and enjoy the game. It really should be a classic. Hope to see the Spaniards have enough left to do the job.

Me too. spain are the best team in the world. This is the best side in their footballing history, and if they play like they did against Germany, Holland will do well to also only concede 1 goal. Can't see Robben or Sjnieder posing any threat to Pique and Ramos...

Working on Sunday, just got to hope i'm working in the day, not the evening =/

Having a barbecue. I hope Spain takes it. They played brilliant against Germany.
Not that big fan of Holland tbh.

This is a very tough one to call. Both sides have been solid in the tournament without being outstanding. It's hard to see where one side has a clear edge over the other.

Everyone raves about the Spanish midfeilders passing ability but to me it's very pretty but has no bite and to win a world cup you need bite. Sjneider was brilliant in the semi and, once he came on, so was Van Der Vaart. Spain have no balance in their midfield, every one of them is a nice passer but they are all play makers rather than play finishers. Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets and Alonso can all shoot but they end up as rather speculative effors. Bringing on Jesus Navas in place of Busquets (and put Inesta alongside Xavi and Alonso) to play wide with Pedro other side and Villa through the middle gives them a far better balance to their play.

The key to the game is which team can get better service to the front man. Villa and Van Persie are both top-class strikers and need decent supply to produce the goods. On that front I think Holland have the edge as Villa got very frustrated with not getting enough quality balls through to him.

I also think Ramos needs to check his runs every so often as, if I were the Dutch manager I'd put him there, he'll be marking Robben so if he goes on his run down the right and loses it there is a gurt big hole for Robben to run into and we all know what he can do from there. Same can also be said for Van Bronkhoorst on the Dutch left. Whilst he scored that belter he can get out of position quickly.

I fear this game will need a moment of defensive madness rather than a moment of magic to decide the game and wouldn't be at all shocked for it to go all the way to penalties.

There you go Steve!!! Awesome post! Best post so far ;)

On BBC World they said that both teams were equal opponents but that Spain just had a bit more talent between their ranks.
Anyway it will be a close game.
I don't hope it will come to penalties like in the previous editions.

Espana!! Hope they win. It really is the best team they've ever produced, but then the Dutch said that in the 70s...

i think spain will win (not just because of paul the multi legged animal)
but i want holland to win the men in orange deserve a world cup!

You know that that only happened twice in the World Cup final right?

I really hope Paul is right in both his predictions

Consensus is if he isn't he will be made into calamari :(

Oh Jer1cho, I've just seen your sig and I wanna cry! :(
This is what you get when you turn on your favourite side with overthought logic. The gods of Sport are ******* all over me.

And I used 'there' instead of 'their'!! What is wrong with me??!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I hate Robben!
He makes the Italians look like 'ard men the amount he turns it on when he's tackled

Difficult to call at the moment. The Dutch are dealing better with the Spanish style than Germany did i feel. Whoever scores first, is going to take it i think. Robben is such an actor.

De Jong and Schneider both lucky not to get red cards in the first half, i reckon there'll be at least one sending off in the second half considering the amount of yellows on the pitch atm
