Im getting a bit worried about this match, we have to constantly rotate the squad due to the amount of injuries. The Brumbies arent a particularily good side but they will come to Newlands to frustrate according to what they have said pre match, making the bonus point difficult. A win would do at this stage in the season, the loser of this game is effectively out of the semis race.

If your missing your wreckingball no.6 then i would favour ACT for this match

Watson moves to 6 so it shouldnt be to much of a problem.

I've already awarded Steve Walsh as 'man of the match' in another thread.

The Stormers probably deserved this one because they took their chances, and just executed better.

The Brumbies probably kicked waaaay too many times to Jantjes who just tore them up. And the Stormers' defene was solid.

However, Steve Walsh single handedly ended the game for the Brumbies with that retarded penalty try.

The Brumbies had several penalty opportunities which they didn't go for goal simply because the score had been blown out so much by Walsh's inept refereeing abilities.

I think it could've been a different game had it not been for that one piece of a mind-boggling stupidity from Walsh.

Yes that penalty try really did have a significant effect on the match. It meant that the Brumbies had to consistently go for the try when a penalty would otherwise have won it for them. Pretty ridiculous. I think its fair to say that the constant Saffa complaints about Aus and NZ refs are now unwarranted.

That was the worst performance since the Crusaders, except the first 25 minutes it was really bad. Constantly turned over, no phases put together, butchered some tries thus no bonus point. To be honest the Brumbies deserved something it shouldnt have been a penalty try but that was really dissapointing and we'll have to improve for the Tahs. Atleast the defense was superb.

I was expecting the Brumbies to improve in the second half, but I do think the Stormers switched off a little once they got so far ahead.

However, Jantjes and Britz were amazing.

I wouldn't feel too bad about the turnovers. The breakdown has been one of the Brumbies main strengths in recent weeks. But that's just expected when you've got George Smith on your team.

I wouldn't expect the Waratahs to be as much trouble.

Anyways, I think Bobo should be playing soccer with some of those performances.

I don't know where you got that magical first 25 minutes from, we pretty much trampled the Brumbies through the entire first 40.

In the second half the brumbies did look pretty lethal though, and were amazing at the breakdowns and the scrums, but don't think we did -too- badly considering half of our first team was out including our best breakdown specialist (Schalk) and our best Scrummager (JD Moller).

All in all I think we can be proud of what is probably the best defence in the tournament at the moment.

I had just watched the game and it was an immediate reaction to not being able to get the bonus point, looking at it now George Smith was just awesome at the breakdown and made it very difficult. Even although we created some other chances without Chavanga and Burger we seem to lack the balance of the tour. But anyway its in our own hands now which is the main thing.
