In Brisbane on Saturday night the Reds, the top ranked team in Super Rugby, face the Brumbies, the bottom ranked team in Super Rugby 2011. Traditionally the Brumbies have had a huge edge over the Reds, having won 15/16 previous meetings before this season, however the Reds will undoubtedly start this match as huge favourites. A win for the Reds would secure top spot in the Australian conference, and could go a long way to secure top spot overall. The Brumbies have little to play for apart from pride, while individual players could be playing for Wallaby spots later in the season.

Reds – 15 Ben Lucas, 14 Luke Morahan, 13 Anthony Faingaa, 12 Ben Tapuai, 11 Digby Ioane, 10 Quade Cooper, 9 Will Genia. 8 Radike Samo, 7 Ben Coridas, 6 Scott Higginbotham, 5 James Horwill (c), 4 Rob Simmons, 3 James Slipper, 2 Saia Faingaa, 1 Ben Daley.
Subs: 16 James Hanson, 17 Greg Holmes, 18 Adam Wallace-Harrison, 19 Jake Schatz, 20 Ian Prior, 21 Will Chambers, 22 Dom Shipperley.

Brumbies -
15 Pat McCabe, 14 Henry Speight, 13 Tyrone Smith, 12 Christian Lealiifano, 11 Adam Ashley-Cooper, 10 Matt Giteau (c), 9 Patrick Phibbs; 8 Ita Vaea, 7 Julian Salvi, 6 Mitchell Chapman, 5 Mark Chisholm, 4 Ben Hand, 3 Ben Alexander, 2 Stephen Moore, 1 Jono Owen.
Subs: 16 Anthony Hegarty, 17 Jerry Yanuyanutawa, 18 Peter Kimlin, 19 Henry Vanderglas, 20 Nic White, 21 Robbie Coleman, 22 Andrew Smith.

The Reds have made a single change to their starting lineup, with Ben Coridas getting his Super Rugby debut in the 7 jersey, replacing the outstanding Beau Robinson, who is out with injury. Liam Gill was flown back from the Australian Under 20 team in Italy to cover for Robinson, but is not available for this match.

Giteau is expected to return for the Brumbies, after being ruled out late last week with toothache! Josh Valentine has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, with Patrick Phibbs coming into the starting lineup, and Nic White coming onto the bench.

A key matchup will be between Matt Giteau and Quade Cooper at first-five. Cooper has overtaken Giteau as Australia's premier 10 over the last year, and Giteau will want to prove he can still match it with Cooper.

I will be at the game with my new woman, hopefully we can win and make it an even better night.

Reds' gonna win easily...
But 10 for a draw because I like odd stuff

Who is that guy playing in Quade Cooper's shirt? I don't know who it can be! 3 tackles in 20 minutes...

Jees Brumbies are getting really quick ball. Reds are under loads of pressure.

What the hell are these commentators on about?
Suggesting the tackle on Ioane was cynical? They seem to think that it was a tackle made with malicious intent with that swinging forearm. From what i can see in the replays Ioane was going down and the tackler was just going to throw his arm around him for a big hit.
Just unfortunate it caught Digby in the jaw.
I'd be surprised if the tackler gets cited.

Blimey, seems like there were a few harsh words spoken between Moore and Giteau at the end of the game.
LOL!
Don't question your captain, Moore!

Big upsets tonight tho!
A Hurricanes loss would have topped the whole list of upsets for the night.

Pretty gut wrenching to say the least. Hopefully this is the loss the Reds needed to have. Lots of worrying injuries at the wrong time of the season though. Anyone know the status of Mike Harris and Peter Hynes? They must be due back soon.

Why the hell is Giteau captain anyway? A hothead like him should have someone keeping him on a leash. I think Moore would make a better captain or Chisholm

What happened between Moore and Giteau? I was watching the game but somehow missed that bit.

At the end the Reds last hope at winning failed when Quade came in from the side of the ruck. The Brumbies got a penalty, AAC was telling Gits to have a shot. Giteau told the ref he was going to shoot (i think). Then Moore came over a second later and said something to Giteau (near the ref) and pointed to the sideline, then Giteau said "shut the *** up i'm captain". It was a spur of the moment thing though, he was getting opinions from everyone and just snapped at Moore. Even so, it was kind of inappropriate.

Funny for spectators none-the-less.

I saw the Faingaa twins have a bit of a spat - Saia passed to Anthony and Anothony knocked on but then started having a go at Saia for a poor pass (which it wasn't)

Missed the last 10mins of the game, hopefully rugby dump put up a clip of the argument/whatever

Haha brilliant, he must have been overloading with adrenaline. I don't think Moore would've taken it personally.

From a neutral perspective what do you think of Giteau's decision to go for the 3 points and rob the Reds of a bonus point?
