RL 2 graphics are good but I wouldn't say the were amazing. The players are failry decent and the animations are great but R2006 looks to have a more impressive atmosphere in the stadiums and the rendering of the players , the pitch and small things like accumulation of dirt on the kits as well as the lightning and shadows blow it out of the water really. RL 2 still has the same pitch which just looks like a flat floor with a green grass texture on it to be honest. However, graphics don't make a game and so far I am more impressed with the game play in RL 2 than I have been with any union games so far. R2005 showed so much promise but was so let down by a crap kicking system that behaved differently whether you played in side mode or overhead mode, and the synchronised zig zagging of the players was extremely poor, matched with the fact you couldn't offload and had to wait for tackle animations to finish before executing moves. If EA have fixed all these issues, made the AI better while giving us offloads then they could have a great game of Rugby on their hands. I really hope RC2006 blows me away though because I'd love to see the game do well but I am yet to see anything extraodinary from the screens or trailers yet. I don't see how the game can come up to scrutiny if it's a mere extension of WCR which has a very basic and arcade like game engine to even compete with the other 2 ***les. Here's hoping though and I'd love to have my thoughts proved wrong.
