How to make sharper kits, logos and graphics:
Added 1st October, 2008

'X2', 'HD' or '512' Technique[/b]<span style="color:#ff0000"> - This is the method of making a file twice the size for greatly improved resolution in the game.Often, in the game you can double the size of the imported graphic and it will appear in much higher resolution. This is now standard procedure where possible.

The x2, HD or 512 technique is basically making a graphic double resolution. This can be done for almost any graphics file, such as kits, minikits, overlays and logos. They will appear in very sharp detail, with no loss of quality or distortion. So for example, you have a 512x512 sized kit template in Adobe Photoshop or GIMP.

To make it x2 you must double it in size to 1024x1024. To make editing as normal, simply reduce the view down to 50% which will give you the old 512x512 look, but in fact when you use it in the game, you will notice a huge difference in quality. x2 is now standard for all kits, logos and graphics.

Edit: For some files, like the Mud Effect for Kits, you can open up the .fsh file with a hex editor, and search for the resolution, i.e 512 and change it to 1024 for x2 resolution or 2048 for x3 resolution.
