Too many is dependent on the stadium atmosphere where you play.

Many of the professional sportsmen have some places of dream they would like to play there.

I think rugby players are included too, as many in Georgia dream to play in different Rugby Capitals of the world.

My list opens with Legendary Twickenham

I visited the stadium in auckland and Hamilton.

Both are very nice but the atmosphere is created by the fans, supporters who cary the passion and love for the game deep in their heart.
Imo you can play rugby everywhere even in crappy stadiums ( if the pitch if fine) as long as you have your army behind you.

Sure you are right my friend, thats all fans who bring the fire to the game

Even mud feels "tasty" when you feel your fans besides you.

Thnx mate, and to go back to your topic i fully support your choice of stadiums you selected.

Those pics look pretty fine.

O I'd like to thank you also my friend

What about the stadiums they're pretty fine and even more-amazing!

Have a fun

Whats the biggest stadium? in terms of seating? i would want to play in the biggest stadium, sold out (your fans of course :p) i reckon that'll be a pretty mean experience.

The rugby stadiums in the world where I believe all players wish they could play are not neccesarily the best ones.....but rather the ones with a deep history of ***anic battles between giants. These are stadiums where rugby players know that they are standing on turf that has hosted legends from previous eras. When they look at the field they are looking at a sacred battle ground where the greatest rugby players in the world left everything they had on it.

There are only four stadiums in the world that I think hold this sort of legacy. Other stadiums are beginning to create a history but at the moment these four are the ones where every rugby player wishes he could play.

Number 1: Eden Park - Auckland - New Zealand
eden_park_crowd_pgb.jpg

"Eden Park - Where Legends are Made" is a sign that is displayed in various locations around the stadium. This ground has been the main ground of the All Blacks for so long and has had almost every great player in the world grace is turf. It is commonly known as "The Garden of Eden" where New Zealanders see it as a place where the All Blacks play their most heavenly rugby. For every rugby player outside of New Zealand their ultimate dream would be to play a RWC final at Eden Park against the All Blacks and to score the winning try in the last minute. The French players had their chance to live this dream in 1987. 3 years from now another generation will have this chance in a lifetime again as Eden Park for the second time hosts a RWC final.

Both Cardiff as Eden park left a huge impression on me.

Estadio Azteca in Mexico has a capacity of over 114,000.

It would be awesome just to watch a game there will a whole bunch of fans going nuts, let's give Mexico the next Rugby World cup. :p

I love the dome shape of the Stade de France. I'd love to watch a game there, let alone play in it...

The Maracana stadium in Brasil had always been among the hugest ones

maracana-soccer-stadium1.jpg

But I agree Gay-Guy in that the stadium capacities mean less than the history that burned into them

Thats the rugby thing Respect, History and etc.

And this is Tbilisi, Georgia, Boris Paichadze stadium, home of Georgian Rugby playesr (footballs also) with more than 80, 000 seats

Nice picks there GG, I like historical factor of your picks and that's why I'd swap the Millennium Stadium with Murrayfield. Some great games there and some great players have graced that field, mostly in the early 1900's though.

Yes Murrayfield and Lansdowne Road did cross my mind...however those two stadiums have failed to capture the scalps of the All Blacks unlike Twickenham, the Cardiff Arms Park site and Ellis Park so they do remain as a good ground for visitors. Murrayfield and Lansdowne Road also have never held a RWC final....they have a deeply rooted history yet not so much a history of the type of respect that comes with "fear". Some teams have belted Scotland and Ireland quite badly over the years in those stadiums.

What about the May Day stadium in North Korea? It holds 150,000 people. Too bad it's main use is to celebrate Kim Il-sung and showcase everything wrong with the country.

Stade de France and Millenium would be my two favourites.

Yeah, wasn't aware of that one when I posted...

Ellis Park (now the Coca-Cola Park) is not what it used to be. It's in the rundown part of Johannesburg (basically the entire inner City). It's very dangerous to be there at night, and at least 85 people (yes, you heard me) get mugged at every game. :(

Sad really, as it was an absolutely great stadium back in the day! Still, we seem to always win their, regardless of how horrific it became...

When it was being built:

I hate agreesive fans, they harm more than add something to their teams

Disqualifications and pay a fines, thats the teams get from their fans.

I remeber how once Russian fans started fight against Georgians here in Tbilisi after Georgia won 72-39 and how Russians were beaten, since that days Russians come here with up to 30fans.

No fight No agression Just Rugby

Tbilisi and all Georgian stadiums are really safe with that point of view, we never look for knife during and after match.

Cheers friends

I was actually referring to crime. Not sport related violence. But yeah. Everyone hates a sore loser! Let football have the hooligans and leave rugby to us proper gentlemen.

Wow, never thought I'd hear of "rugby violence"

Here in SA I don't think we've ever even had something like this, not that I'm aware of anyway.

I know Newlands isn't the flashiest stadium anymore and it's not our best hunting ground either, but if I could play on (currently) the oldest rugby stadium in the world, which just happens to be the headquarters and birthplace of SA rugby I would be the happiest man on earth.
