All my friends told me it just a matter of time before it happens. Today was officially the 1st day I fell off my motorcycle since I bought it a year ago. My knees and elbows are practically just a big roasties now (i hear the medical term is 'tar burn' ), other than that it's just my left wrist that's a bit swollen and a cut on my calf from the rear sprocket. It happened when I was busy taking a right bend at about 40 km/h, and I guess the combination of water from the rain and the fine sand on the road from the construction site just made my front tyre give way. As I was falling the shoe laces on my left shoe some how got caught around the gear lever, so the bike dragged me a bit (about 20 meters). Luckily I got freed before it hit the sidewalk and I rolled (for about 10 meters) into a gutter. Again 'lucky' for me there was an elderly woman behind me, who stopped and assisted me. After she made sure I was ok, she asked if I played rugby because she reckons I rolled like I knew what I was doing  The bike doesn't look too bad, luckily only the front unit that houses the headlight and indicators got damaged. No dents or scratches on the body work that I could see, which is amazing. Haven't taken a picture yet as it's still raining but I'll take one before it goes into repairs on Monday. I won't stop riding motorcycles as I really enjoy them. After a long day there's nothing better than getting on your bike and riding. Anybody have a similar experience?
