An earthquake measuring 8.3 on the richter scale hit Vanuatu 2 hrs ago and a tsunami warning has gone out to all Pacific Islands. The one that hit Samoa a few days ago was 7.3 so this one is gonna be devastating.

We're evacuating to higher grounds in a few mins here in Fiji as our office is by the sea.

The Regional Tsunami Warning in effect has been moved to high from moderate.

This has been confirmed by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre.

Should be hitting us any moment now.

Catch you laters folks.

That's so sad. I can't get off my mind the images of the tsunami in 2004. I wish you the best as well.

Tsunami warning cancelled. Huge sigh of relief there.

Positive thing was the quickness of the warning and the evacuation, from children to the elderlies, everyone knew what was to be done and where to go....although some f'ucked-up tourist decided to head down to the beach with his camera...nutcase that one.

The chaos was unbeliveable. Traffic jams everywhere and at last count, there were 6 car accidents. Couldnt even get a call through on my cellphone as the network was congested.
