Ulster coach Brian McLaughlin has named an extended 29-man squad to face Cardiff Blues at Ravenhill on Saturday, kick-off 7.30pm.

Paddy McAllister and Tommy Seymour are additions to the squad that was selected for the Cardiff away game last weekend, while Tom Court and Mark McCrea were not considered due to injury.

McLaughlin said: 'On Saturday evening discipline will be key, we need to read the breakdown much quicker and make intelligent decisions as to how we defend or attack the opposition ball. We must keep the ball in hand and play some strong and smart running rugby.

'If we are going to come away with the win we really need, we'll have to play out of our socks and be mentally prepared for a real fight.'

3-7 lead for Cardiff after 11 minutes. Ulster have dominated but gifted the Welsh side a try when Casey Laulala picked off a Niall O'Connor pass.

Yeah, good intercept try, but Ulster have had more pressure on Cardiff than t'other way round
Had the better of them in the scrum as well

Ulster's problem lies at 10. Niall O'Connor is decidedly average and hasn't improved in his 3 seasons as a pro. He can't pass, can't run and his goalkicking is woeful. The only thing in his locker is a massive boot. Their other option Ian Humphreys mixes the ridiculous with the sublime - when on form he'll cut teams apart, when off form he's a liability.

3-10 now.

I thought it was a good game, actually. Shame the Blues couldn't get the Bonus Point, but there we go.
