URC 2024/2025 - Round 2

Munster: Mike Haley; Calvin Nash, Shane Daly, Tom Farrell, Thaakir Abrahams; Tony Butler, Craig Casey; Josh Wycherley, Diarmuid Barron (c), Oli Jager; Jean Kleyn, Fineen Wycherley; Ruadhán Quinn, John Hodnett, Gavin Coombes.

Replacements: Niall Scannell, Jeremy Loughman, John Ryan, Jack Daly, Jack O'Donoghue, Conor Murray, Bryan Fitzgerald, Shay McCarthy.

Very strong side for a trip to Zebre. Should put up a decent score. Hope Abrahams is let stretch his legs, he got very little ball last week, but I was happy with how bravely he defended given its his biggest weakness. Quinn being given another shot after a poor enough game last week. Good moment for Bryan Fitzgerald to get his competitive debut at 25. I know nothing about him besides being a good AIL player. People were quite complimentary of Butler last week, but to be honest I thought he was quite poor.

Looking forward to the URC starting even if we are missing our Bokke and a few still injured. We need to get the early points we missed last season.

Bokke have ruined both of our first choice 10s though. I'm finding I am begrudging our players playing test rugby just a tad.

The goys playing quite poorly here. Dragons should probably be ahead. I've no doubt Leinster will grind them out of the game, but they've been sloppy as hell so far

Yeah, Leinster have been (by their standards) surprisingly poor and the Dragons have certainly held their own.

I don't have sound, how did the Leinster player being flipped result in a Dragons penalty?

Think it was a neck roll by Leinster player, which was deemed more dangerous.

Decent first half by Dragons, although Leinster were quite poor by their standards. However, Dragons barely fired a shot in the second as Leinster upped their game.

Think the Dragons will be very dissapointed after last week, even if they wouldn't have expected anything out of a visit to Dublin.

Bad, sloppy half, but improved as we went on and BP got before the half. Happy for Bryan Fitzgerald. Zebre kept picking and going through the middle and it kept working. They have improved a bit, but we shouldn't ever be struggling against them.

Daly and Abrahams injured as well. Nearly an all Limerick backline yuuuup

Steady the blocks only 4/7 are Limerick. We doing well here though considering what we have and the obstacles

I'm out, see you when we're not **** again! Maybe 2028

We were desperate and well are a long way away from competing at the business end this year. I shouldn't say this as I'm employed by Munster and love the place but we don't have strength in depth. Yes it will improve when Internationals are back but we recruited poorly this summer.
But please don't take away from Zebre and what they are trying to do.under this new coaching ticket that has a good track record at underage level. They will improve and the league is better for it as a whole.

Weirdly, the Munster result wasn't as big of a shock to me after last week. Don't get me wrong Munster should be winning that but I could see the improvement in Zebre at the Arms Park. Zebre just not used to winning and made loads of silly mistakes that lost them the game, they could easily be 2/2.

Decent away win for the blue and blacks in Llanelli, but it wasn't high quality at all. 2/2 with BPs I will take as we had too many <7 last year. Dan Thomas with a good performance, will need him firing like that for the season with Thomas Young and Faletau still to return. Glasgow will be a huge test next week.
