URC 2024/25: Round 4

I think best case scenario we field:

15 Haley
14 Nash
13 Farrell
13 Nanikivell
11 McCarthy
10 Crowley
9 Casey

1 Loughman
2 Barron
3 Ryan
4 Kleyn
5 Beirne
6 O'Donoghue
7 Hodnett
8 Coombes

Bench: Killer, Scannell, Archer, Ahern, Wycherley,Burns, Murray, O'Brien

Which to be fair is a very decent 15, but as I said in the other thread the bench is where we die. Ahern aside very little impact.

Sean will start. Mike Haley 50/50, Tom Ahern unlikely to be risked

Not too bad a side. Front row far weaker, but that's not new. Don't think we will win, but don't think we will get hammered.

Ahern making the bench makes way better impact

If we can get to last 15mins and still be on it and combat the pace they have off the bench we might get a LBP

Better team won by a distance but a few notable things.
1. Don't often gove out about refs but Busby was terrible tonight. Didn't impact result and we were by a distance 2nd best but he was poor.
2. Leinster will improve but after 15 mins it was 21-0 and final score was 26-12. So for last 65mins we won 12-5.

Leinster will improve but equally will meet better teams too. They will need to improve on this.

Heffernan a very lucky boy to still be on the field.

Dunno what Andy Brace and Olly Hodges were at. Brace was looking right at it and Hodges never called for a 2nd look.

Even if you aren't sure on live watch, ye'd think you'd call up to TMO - check that!

... and also some serious slabbers in our team. At least 3 times now they've been pulled for backchat in this match.

Great win, that first half was rugby that should win us a trophy this year. We have a way better bench that are either injured or not available.

Frawley is the 10 for this season, he's better than Ross has ever been but this time next year he'll be the bench specialist again. Great asset for Leinster/Ireland but not the main man.

At least one Byrne away, if not both, next season?

Not sure if there is much future for either in the pro game to be honest. Maybe they'll make a living in D2 or the English Championship.

Cityjet still sponsoring Leinster?

I'm convinced that there's a player in HB, just needs a run of fitness and game time. Pro D2 might be the place to hone it, too stacked at Leinster now and he needs to get out of his comfort zone.

Ross could stay at Leinster as third choice but can't see him being happy with the salary that comes with that. A prem or top 14 team will pick him up, whether he does well there is another question.
