URC 24/25: Quarter finals

Lol, pretty sure from lip reading Dobson just said this game is shocking. And he is right. Last half wasn’t good, but this half is our worst half of this season.

Only player that has shown up for us is Senatla. Paul de Villiers had a decent first half, but has been absent in the second half.

Senatla is straight fire. Is he qualified for the Boks?
He is a born and bred South African from Welkom. He used to be one of the best if not the best player on the Sevens circuit, then made the move over to 15 man. Took a while to him to adjust but he got on a roll, but then he unfortunately was in a really bad car accident that kept him out of rugby for over a year. Just came back in the latter stages of this season and has been doing quite well, but this was probably his best performance for us.

Problem for him is we are pretty stacked at wing (KLA, Kolbe, Mapimpi, Moodie)

Thanks.

If he keeps playing like that he'll find himself in the conversation sooner or later, looked like exactly the type of winger Rassie loves to my untrained eye

Best hurry though or they'll find him a Scottish granny 😁

I mean as a wing he is kinda limited in timing left. He is already 32 years old and that pace will unfortunately start falling off. Meanwhile you have Moodie at 22 and Ethan Hooker (Sharks wing) also 22 and doing well, you kinda feel like they’re going to be prioritized to get more experience for the future.

Ah fair enough, I assumed he was a little younger than that!

Jordan was very unlucky not to be picked for the Lions as a utility back. Based on form and versatility I'd have had him in before Daly and M Smith but maybe Farrell doesn't want too much cover at 10/12 at this stage ;) He also covers 15 and was excellent in the 6N.

Who would have thought Edinburgh would be leading 21-8 against the Bulls in South Africa after 30 mins.

Great match so far.

Great half of rugby. Expect it to go like yesterday with the home side pulling away but would be cool to see Embra get another strong start to the second half.

Still, this is usually a nothing round, getting to see some good stuff.
