URC 24/25: Round 18

Munster Rugby: Thaakir Abrahams; Calvin Nash, Tom Farrell, Alex Nankivell, Diarmuid Kilgallen; Jack Crowley, Craig Casey; Michael Milne, Niall Scannell, Stephen Archer; Jean Kleyn, Tadhg Beirne (C); Peter O'Mahony, John Hodnett, Gavin Coombes.

Replacements: Lee Barron, Josh Wycherley, John Ryan, Fineen Wycherley, Tom Ahern, Conor Murray, Seán O'Brien, Alex Kendellen.

Scannell the luckiest man in Ireland, he has been horrendous in the back half of this season, if not for Diarmuid Barron being injured and Lee being fresh off the boat he wouldn't be in the 23 for me. He is not a good carrier, currently can't hit his darts and his discipline has been awful as well for a 33 year old with 20 Irish caps. We need to develop Danny Sheahan next year. Think Fineen Wycherley similarly is lucky, I like the aggression he plays with, but he's an automatic 2/3 stupid pens a game. Not sure O'Mahony would be starting if he decided to stay on another year. Very tough to keep Ahern out of that team.

Benetton:

15 Rhyno Smith (74)
14 Ignacio Mendy (40)
13 Tommaso Menoncello (60)
12 Ignacio Brex (101)
11 Paolo Odogwu (19)

9 Alessandro Garbisi (68)
8 Lorenzo Cannone (56)
7 Manuel Zuliani (70)
6 Riccardo Favretto (56)
5 Federico Ruzza (132) (C)
4 Scott Scrafton (22)
3 Simone Ferrari (123)
2 Siua Maile (36)
1 Thomas Gallo (76)

A disposizione: 16 Bautista Bernasconi (40), 17 Mirco Spagnolo (33), 18 Giosué Zilocchi (32), 19 Niccolò Cannone (90), 20 Sebastian Negri (95), 21 Nicolò Casilio (2), 22 Tomas Albornoz (66), 23 Malakai Fekitoa (30).

Benneton definitely not a gimme these days as Glasgow found out last week. It's a team pretty much full of internationals. They are a different team away from home normally, have to hope they get the yips. A loss here is catastrophic for us.

Leinster v Glasgow the game of the round, expect Leinster to go through them like **** through a goose though.

Meh. Jaded, little confidence in my team, if they put the kids out Saturday to get bounced, I don't expect us to win the playoffs.

Sorry Warriors, you know I Iove ya' but I don't think you'll beat Leinster. Hope I'm wrong though.

Tale of two halves. Their pack were hitting every ruck in the first half and we were poor but we came out second half and got fully stuck in. Casey was in a different world tonight. Crowley in contrast quite poor and lackadaisical. Have to assume he was hurt for a good part of that game. Kilgallen had a great shift too.

We won't win a jot this year, wouldn't back us against any of the top 4, but we haven't ****** our future at least.

A rather tiresome and anti-climatic match between Sharks and Scarlets. Both teams appeared to be exhausted and sloppy. As a side note, it does unfortunately mean yet another weekend where all four Welsh sides lost their matches (exactly why did they all have to go to SA at the same time anyway?)

How in the ever loving **** is Ben Whitehouse a professional referee

1. The laugh was at the Scarlets winning the next game, not the league.

2. Corruption really?

3. They're out of the spotlight for the dismal season ender, probably expecting all 4 teams out of contention and they can have a proper welsh **** up on foreign soil
