URC - Round 7

Won't get to watch this. Similar to what should have beat Ulster last year but with Ross in. Hopefully gets us over the line.

Stormers need a win to get the season back on track but Sharks are looking more and more like an actual team.

Ok side all things considered. Will see what this Bleuler lad is made of fairly quick.

Scarlets threw away the win here. They mostly contained Glasgow, and in the last 10min. had plenty of chances to get the win, but codn't quite make it count.

Still, plenty of positives to take away, especially after last season. Their set piece is looking strong (minus Elias' throwing). Their defense is aggressive and mostly organised. So more wins will come their way if they continue in the same vein.

Bit of a relief to scrape over the line against Scarlets albeit with a quite a few rested after international duty. The man with no neck (Duncy Weir) still going strong.

Wonder if anyone could teach Nathan Doak how to pass directly off the base of a ruck...?

Ideally, a technique that doesn't involve:
1. Picking the ball up
2. Taking a step
3. Pulling the ball back
4. Then throwing the pass.

4 separate movements.

If he cannot learn to pick-up and throw in one movement off his wrists, then he's not at the level expected of a top-level scrum half.

Anyway - far from our only problem so probably unfair to single him out - just one of the more glaring ones. We've enough trouble generating quick ball without the scrum half adding a second to it at every ruck

Cardiff v Dragons is like watching 2 old homeless men fighting over a half eaten Mars bar...

2 scratch squads, the difference being Cardiff have a bit more muscle in key areas.
