USA news & politics

And that's the problem. People on both sides telling people not to be be compassionate etc

Some of his views were cretinous. But if you don't care about someone being murdered, there family or young children. That's pretty cretinous as well

I get your point the problem is the right and left are so far apart. Each sides views are so disgusting to the others there's no middle ground.

Part of Charlie Kirks thing was going to liberal university's asking to be proven wrong. Knowing he's view are distasteful to some.

At this point you'd have to ban both bloody sides from the Internet.
If you say "both sides" enough you might eventually convince yourself calling transpersons by their preferred pronoun is as bad as white supremacy

The usual grifters using the assassination and pretending to cry whilst calling for war against people to are deemed to oppose Christian and conservative views.

Or....

Your a bit of a ****?! Without the bravery of stating you agree with the deaths of those who disagree with you?

Its absolutely your choice!

i have to admit, as someone that been very open in my support of the LGBTQI+ community and probably most other "woke agendas".....im starting to feel uneasy about my own safety, is my rainbow lanyard going to get me cornered in the street...i hope its just paranoia but these aren't fun times

I think it's more important than ever to be a visible ally to the oppressed.
Especially if you're from the demographic favoured by the oppressors.

Eg, I'd be encouraging any lilly-white American (preferably with at least 3 generations born and bred) to display Mexican flag bumper stickers - just to **** off ICE.

The purpose of allyship seems to have gone from "I support you" and becoming "I shield you"

Remember when Pelosi was attacked in his home by a hammer wielding maniac and this was the response from the presidents son? Or how about Fox News Jess Watters response of using it to blame Democrats and say ""A lot of people get hit with hammers. A lot of people get attacked. And a lot of times, they're out on bail the next day and it's a simple assault charge," bearing in mind this was someone attempting to murder Paul Pelosi.

But now the right want to claim it's entirely the left that are heating things up and exploiting a tragedy, not showing due care or deference? Honestly, there needs to be a lot of introspection because the right in the USA have done every bit as much to drive the country to where it is as the left, arguably more so. The frenzy that is being whipped up by the most influential people is in stark contrast to the response when to on the left were attacked or murdered.

Let's look again at a Republican senator who is condemning what happened to Kirk. What did he write when 2 Democratic Minnesota lawmakers were murdered? ""This is what happens," Lee wrote in an X post, "when Marxists don't get their way."" https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...enator-mike-lee-kirk-shooting-melissa-hortman

These sorts of people have been every bit as responsible for driving the USA to where it is and these same people now want to claim righteous fury at Kirk's murder? Using the murder of Democrats to spread lies and the murder of conversatives to spread hatred.

It needs to be toned down on both sides. Portraying this as just the left that need to tone it down is a flat out lie.

@dirty harry feel free to explain whats funny, im not sure many other people are laughing at serious issues, ive definitely seen multiple people claiming the war has started and they will "defend themselves" against what they consider the radical woke left, i admitted that it might be paranoia but not sure its funny

we've had actual self proclaimed nazis marching in the streets in aussie.....hundreds (thousands?) who feel safe enough to openly march down the street proclaiming they'll actively "take action against" non white/straight/conservative....anything...not on line from their basements

It's ok to say the world is better off without this ****. And if you can hold two thoughts in your head at once you can still abhor the murder. Hey, try three thoughts and fear the consequences once this scum regime weaponise it, but I'm not going to lament the death of a prominent white christian nationalist, misogynist, transphobic, homophobic, disgusting racist prick that founded an organisation trying to indoctrinate young people into the same views.

And the pictures of the 'person of interest' looks MAGA as ****.

im personally afraid the ramifications of this will outweigh the harm (IMO) he was doing

Me too. It's an appalling situation that will be exploited to a horrific degree.

But I still don't care that he in particular is dead given how much hate he has spread by victimising every minority you can think of plus half of the entire human race (women) for clicks and money.

Remember when armed mob stormed the capitol, attacking and killing cops, and fully intending to murder the VP and several other members of Congress?
Can someone remind me how opposed to political violence Trump was then?

I feel for him in the sense that he didn't deserve to die. My heart goes out to his family.

But, I can't help but feel the world will be a better place without him.

I still remember watching that Cambridge debate where he lost big time on the subject of gay relationships, all he ended with was "You're wrong,"

His ego was so bad he published on his own YouTube channel cutting that bit out.
