Yeah my sources close to Sarries confirmed this last night.

Its getting silly now, there was a feeling that when Jones was signed he'd be here for the long haul to get Sarries back into shape. But now we're back to revolving door recruitment.

One die hard Sarries fan on the fan board made a specialised Sarries logo replacing the red and black with dark green and gold. The team is slowly becoming just a South African development team, the Connaught of South African Rugby...and it stinks, especially with all the talent thats coming through the Saracens academy now with Goode, Cato, Saul, Wilson, Powell and co.

My bet is that the new owners are just going to sideline what is probably part of the solution to England's woes (i.e. Goode, Cato, Powell, etc) and just import a load of Saffa youngesters instead.

EDIT: What I've heard is that the reason why Jones has left is because he's fallen out with the new South African owners who forced out Saracens Chief Exec Mark Sinderberry who Jones was very close to when the pair were working in Australia. Sinderberry has been replaced with the South African's own man, Edward Griffiths.

Give it a few months and Alan Solomons' name will be getting thrown around. And Sarries become a Super 16 franchise...

Exactly. The group that has a stake in Saracens now has investments in three major Super 14 franchises. Nigel Wray may have a golden share and input into the process but the power must now rest with SAIL.

People talk about the possibility now of guys like Bryan Habana and Schalk Burger being able to spend 6 months at Saracens on authorised sabbaticals but I don't want that. I want a team which can take advantage of the riches which its academy system is now producing. :(

You could do worse than the Doc... doesn't seem right him coaching someone else but safe to say he's a London Irish legend.

And an absolute thug, but that's besides the point. Sarries seemed to be growing steadily more solid under Jones. I can't see them progressing at the same pace, letting such an experienced top level coach go.

No agreed he wasn't the cleanest, but boy his side gave your boys a thrashing at Twickenham in the PC Final in 2002! Daws and Budge Pountney fighting at half-time wasn't the best example of team spirit I've ever seen...

I was there, so can't deny the comprehensive victory, but it has nothing to do with what I mentioned - the fact that in his playing days Venter was a thug with a love for swinging arms and fists.

On another minor sidenote, if you did your research you'd realise that the word "fighting" is fairly off the mark.

Again though, nothing to do with the original issues raised, I'm not quite sure why you brought it up.

Well under Jones it has been same old same old. I'm not saying I wanted him to leave or anything because he was doing a decent job... but on paper there's a classy team there and we still win 50% only of our games.

I couldn't care less about the Boks in our team, because tbh Mercey, Saull, Cato, Powell and Goode have all played a fair amount of rugby this season.

Ah it was brought up for a bit of banter, don't get too ruffled. To state that Venter was simply "a thug" would be to ignore what an actual good player he was, a World Cup winner nonetheless, plus a great leader and coach. Sarries could do worse.
