Beards size that he doesn't utilise you mean.

Nah, I hear what you're saying. I'd still have Jarrod Evans all day over Sheedy.

I get it, Sheedys goal kicking is a disgrace, but Evans looks sloppy at Quins, arent they bottom of the league? Smith will make a difference if he ever plays club rugby again lol

Watching Cardiff tonight the difference between Beetham and Bowen is night and day, ones full of confidence, lively, full of energy and involved in everygood thing Cardiff does...

The other is Beetham.

Beetham needs to work on his handling, he spilled a few balls tonight. But he's got tons of potential, big, physical, good all around skillet. And he grew into the game tonight, took a great high ball towards the end when Glasgow were threatening.

I really like Bowen too, but tonight wasn't a great example as he really struggled under the high ball (along with the rest of the Cardiff players to be fair). His time will come.

I dont dislike Beetham, but hes not 20 any more, hes 24, hes been around for a while, and a bit like Millard hes playing because of necesity and not pusjed himself through.

Like Connaught Edinburgh utilised the high ball well against us.

got to give credit to Ben Thomas and Josh Adams though, Adams looked livelier than he has in a few years, and Ben Thomas was my MOTM, hes really maturing at 12.

Defencively sound, led the line, crashed when he needed to, and didnt just try to play a send playmaker role like a headless chicken as usual, hes the reason Lloyds performance wasnt totally dire. Ive been very critical of Thomas, hears to hooing he proves me wrong

Bit unfair on Beetham given his injury issues over the last few years. This is his first run of games since picking up his Wales cap.

Agree on Ben Thomas, he was excellent last night, especially given that Ioan Lloyd was a headless chicken for most of the game, he really stepped in to give the side direction. He looks more physical this season.

For the first time he looked like a centre playing 12, instead of a 10 covering 12. Hell never be a good 10, but hopefully hell make a decent 12 going forward.

Saw the Japan v Aus game, not great quality, Aus had 3 disallowed tries, Japan never felt like they were in it tbh.

So, if Faletau is ruled out after limiting off after a couple of minutes last night, who comes into replace him? For the first time I can remember we have plenty of options to choose from.

Moriarty has been playing well for Ospreys. He's a ****ly player who will provide plenty of experience. But I'd be genuinely temped by Alun Lawrence who was good last season, but has been phenomenal at the start of this season. He's an absolute machine, racking up tackles and carries for fun. Genuinely impressed by him, and his age profile may swing it in his direction for me.

Or they could choose to bring in an extra 7, with Deaves and Basham options. Wainwright (who was exceptional for Dragons), Plumtree and Morse are all options at 8 in the squad already.

Weirdly the thing I’ve been most impressed with Lloyd this season is his kicking out of hand and goal kicking which I’ve always seen as weaknesses from him.

The things I’ve been least impressed with him this season are around the strengths in his game (ball in hand, line breaks, delivery)

I said before the start of the season that it’s kind of make or break for him this year. Harsh in a way as he only started playing 10 least year pretty much and even then he was hardly played there really and was more of a utility back and now he’s gone to Cardiff he’s essentially the same. Still, no excuses, he needs to show why he should be the main man with last night (Edinburgh at home) being the perfect game to do that and he didn’t really. (Other than a few nice kicks and the odd moment here and there)

Make Deaves Wales captain.
