Hey. I'm 15 in April, Irish and want to start playing rugby. I'm not very fit and I've never really been the sporty type but I want to start a new sport and it looks like a lot of fun. I've been to a few matches and have enjoyed watching them. My main worry is being behind and not knowing what to do. Thoughts?

Join a club, there'll be a level for you to play and you'll learn there. You can't learn much,if anything, from watching rugby until you have the basics down.

Agreed. Expect a bit of a steep learning curve at the beginning. Gets easier.
Focus on basics i.e. (i) understand the (basic) rules, (ii) learn how to tackle and (iii) learn how to pass. I suppose the tackling would be the most important one for you.
The rest will come.
You don't need to be super fit or anything to play at club level, but it definitely helps.

Thanks for the responses. There's a club I'm my local area and I'm gonna start after my junior cert. Any advice on what I should do to prepare and what I need for it?
