Leicester Tigers have targeted Bristol No.8 Dan Ward-Smith as a possible replacement for Martin Corry. I understand the Welford Road club have approached the 31-year-old to discuss a deal to sign him next season. Several clubs are also courting his services.

Current skipper Corry is out of contract at the end of the season.

Tigers had lined up South African World Cup winner Danie Rossouw as a replacement but he is reportedly less keen on the deal following fellow countryman Heyneke Meyer's resignation as head coach.

If Rossouw does not come, Tigers must look elsewhere for someone to compete with Jordan Crane at the base of the scrum next season[/b]

Ward-Smith wouldn't exactly be one for the future but he'd be a decent backup to Jordan Crane. Is Corry being shipped out/retiring at the end of the season?

Sad to see Corry go. Strangely good player - brick shithouse + some great offloading play.

Thought DWS was much younger. Wonder if he has any chance for England?
