What would be Your 31 man Squad and Starting 15 for Your country in the Rugby World Cup 2019 guys

Hi Jenner, nice team mate, I agree with most of that, but when Crotty is fit, he's our guy, super reliable, deceptively good on attack, best defense and distribution, he's essential to the AB's when he's fit, so experienced too, I'd want him in those tight games.
You're expecting tight games?

Changing that from what I had a few weeks ago by bringing RK in after the announcement of his new contract. I could see Deegan coming in ahead of Conan after the latter not getting too much involvement behind Jordi Murphy who you'd have assumed he'd have been comfortably ahead of.

And if Mako or Genge go down?

We really need a Wilson who can cover both sides adequately. I don't think any of the current crop do which means you need 3 complete front rows.

No one takes 3 complete front rows to RWCs. If Mako or Genge goes down then just call up Marler who will have been in the penultimate squad selection and has plenty of experience internationally and in the set up, to slot right in.

OK, if you accept that, where would Marler be?

If one of them gets hurt in training 3 or 4 days before a match, you won't want a replacement flying out from London to go straight into action.

I feel like we could see a 40 man squad go out... Just in case

What about Farrell? I keep hearing people talk about him.

What about Farrell? I keep hearing people talk about him.

If you mean Chris Farrell, he's a very big 13 who's more skilled than people initially think when they see his size. He filled in well for Henshaw v Argentina in November and came into the tean after Henshaw got injured against Italy and won motm v Wales before getting injured and being ruled out for the season. Ringrose came back from injury and reminded everyone what the hype was about and will probably be the first choice 13 for the foreseeable future. If everyone is fit then I think he'd struggle to make the 31 because Henshaw and Larmour (and Earls but he really isn't very good there) can both play 13 which means we'd be better off taking Aki as a backup 12.

Cheers for the response, there's certainly plenty of talent to choose from in Ireland Atm.

I'll update my version because a lot of things I assumed there are turning out to look unlikely.

Healy, Best (Scannell if he doesn't make it), Furlong, Ryan, Henderson, Beirne, Leavy, Stander, Murray, Sexton, Stockdale, Henshaw, Ringrose, Earls, Kearney

Cronin (regardless of who starts), McGrath, Porter, POM, Jordi Murphy, Cooney, Carbery, Larmour.

Others: Best/Scannell/Another hooker (maybe Marshall), Bealham, Toner, A Leinster backrow (Conan, VDF, Ruddock, Doris, Deegan), McGrath/R. Byrne, Aki, Farrell, Conway.

People who just happen to be on a conveniently timed holiday on the East coast of China: Buckley, Herring, Ryan, Dillane, another Leinster backrow, another halfback, Arnold, Whoever wing is playing well.

16 Leinster
8 Munster
5 Ulster
2 Connacht which seems like a reasonable assessment of where the provinces are at at the moment.
I just typed this up without putting to much thought into it so there could be some stupid **** here that I haven't thought of.

Marshall and Kleyn are both IQ just before the WC but I wouldn't rate either of them highly enough to parachute them straight into the squad ahead of other players unless there are injuries. Might be a year to soon for Max Deegan and Caelan Doris both of whom are very talented but then again I wasn't expecting James Ryan to be as good as he us now for another three or four years so what do I know.

In the unlikely event that Sean O'Brien is fit then he'd probably slot in at 6 (which would probably lead to a fairly unbalanced backrow) or on the bench ahead of Nordi Murphy.

Was extremely tough and can't believe I left North out of a 31. Also feel for Watkin, Jenkins and Beard but I felt that there is currently players with around the same amount of ability but with more experience (Williams, Navidi & Ball).

Also I went with the dual cover of Jarvis in an effort to take more back rowers but would depend on his season at the Dragons.
