All pro sports players so they probably want to win. So the same i guess.

A player who played in and won the 1997 british lions test series against south Africa in South Africa allegedly said many times that his career pinnacle is that series win describing it allegedly as "greatest ever rugby experience" eclipsing even his winning of the rugby world cup in 2003 with England.

Perhaps I should have entitled the thread. " which is better playing for the British Lions or the winning of the rugby World Cup"?.

No he didn't, this has already been settled multiple times - think he might have even had Wasps winning the Heineken cup ahead of it too

No one gives a damn about the Lions except the fat fucks in blazers who can skim a load of advertising money off the top and expense a summer away

To compare it to a world cup or even a six nations is an insult to the sport tbh, it's just the barbarians in a different colour shirt

I stand corrected you are right i am wrong
Current as I wrote this june 4 2025
While Laurence Dallaglio achieved a lot throughout his career, including winning the Rugby World Cup with England and playing on the British & Irish Lions, his career pinnacle is often considered his time with Wasps, particularly their victories in the Heineken Cup (now the Champions Cup).

I stand corrected I believed it to be true because at some point in time it was his career pinnacle but that career pinnacle has changed as on 4 June 2025 his Heineken Cup wins with wasps is his current career pinnacle but that may or may not change in the future.

Current on 4 June 2005 Greatest ever rugby team (that has played rugby).
  • 1 – British & Irish Lions (1971).

A number of people as of 4 June 2025 say Greatest ever rugby team (that has played rugby).
  • 1 – British & Irish Lions (1971).

Is winning a British lions test series mean more, the same or less for players in the British & Irish team than it does for the players in thier opponents team?
Less because a career will likely span 3 lions tours, so B&I players get 3 shots at it, whilst Sanzaar it's once in a career, I less exceptional longevity

You'd have got the same answers, because you're still ruining your question by comparing apples to oranges, winning one versus playing in another, and not knowing which nations make up the B&I Lions

Which is harder British & irish lions test
a. British & Irish lions winning test series 3 nil in New Zealand or
b.winning the rugby world cup.
Me thinks british and Irish lions test winning 3 nil new zealand.

It is possible to win the rugby world cup without having to play new Zealand, south Africa and Australia as south Africa did in winning the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
